461 Dean

Big Ideas, Real Impact. 461 Dean is a pioneering modular high-rise residential tower in Brooklyn, New York, designed by SHoP Architects and developed by Forest City Ratner Companies in partnership with Greenland USA. Rising 32 stories and 359 feet tall, the building is one of the most recognizable examples of large-scale modular construction in the United States.

Our team manufactured custom bifold door systems for 461 Dean, supporting the project’s innovative modular design. The tower is composed of 930 prefabricated steel-framed modules, each fully assembled and weatherproofed off-site at the Brooklyn Navy Yard before being transported and installed by crane. Depending on unit size, up to three modules were interconnected to form studio through two-bedroom apartments—layouts where space-efficient, precision-manufactured bifold doors play a critical role in functionality and consistency across units.

The residential tower includes 363 rental apartments, with a significant portion designated as affordable housing, along with a robust amenity package that features a fitness center, yoga and dance studio, resident lounge, catering kitchen with event space, children’s playroom, laundry services, bicycle storage, private storage units, and a shared outdoor terrace on the 20th floor. Ground-floor retail and direct adjacency to Barclays Center further integrate the building into the surrounding urban fabric.

This project highlights our experience supplying custom bifold doors for modular and prefabricated multifamily construction, delivering reliable performance, repeatable quality, and efficient installation at scale.
