601.2 Material usage.

Structural systems are designed or construction techniques are implemented that reduce and optimize material usage.

Minimum structural member or element sizes necessary for strength and stiffness in accordance with advanced framing techniques or structural design standards are selected.

601.3 Building dimensions and layouts.

Building dimensions and layouts are designed to reduce material cuts and waste. This practice is used for a minimum of 80 percent of the following areas:
